Duration of the FPA

The FPA art. 17 states that the current Framework Partnership Agreement entered into force on 1st January 2014. In case of Framework Partnership Agreements signed after 1 January 2014, the Agreements in question shall enter into force on the date of receipt by the Commission of one original signed by the Humanitarian Organisation.

The current Framework Partnership Agreement shall remain valid until 31 December 2018 unless the Parties decide otherwise.
As you can read in the notice below, DG ECHO intends to propose to the Partners an extension of the duration of the 2014 Framework Partnership Agreement.
The proposal for an extension of the duration of application of the Agreement should in principle be submitted to Partners during the last quarter of 2018 for a maximum of one year; the time extension should in turn become effective upon acceptance by the Partners.
